Service Description

This team concept program for Aspire-level figure skaters is designed to build strong foundational skills while developing well-rounded athletes. Skaters will work on advancing their on-ice technique through structured skill progression, while also learning essential off-ice habits such as goal setting, effective practice strategies and training habits such as proper sleep and fueling their bodies for performance. This session wie will also be discussing competition and what that means. The program also introduces skaters to a variety of skating opportunities, helping them explore different paths in the sport and stay motivated as they grow both as athletes and individuals. 6 Week Session that includes over 2 hours of instruction weekly for skaters currently in Basic 6 through Aspire 4 Schedule: Tuesday 6:00-6:30pm Skills Class Tuesday 6:35-7:05pm Flexibility and Strength Class with Coach Gina Artese Thursday 6:00-6:20pm Off Ice Warm Up Thursday 6:25-7:00pm On Ice Class Thursday 7:05-7:30pm Off Ice Class (no 7:05 off ice class on March 12 or April 9) Topics covered: Warming up off ice, goal setting, skill development, developing flexibility and strength, intro to theatre on ice, intro to ice dance, edgework and power skating, goal setting, sportsmanship and effective practice habits, understanding competition participation and competition judging
