Amy is the Owner/Director of @learntoskatekc and the Founder + National Coordinator of Road to Gold Training Camps.  She has been coaching figure skaters for over 30 years. Whether she is directing our Learn to Skate program, coaching her own athletes or coordinating Road to Gold across the country, Amy sees athletes as people first, each with unique, special talents & qualities. "Life is about collecting experiences and growing from them. I see coaching as an opportunity to not only teach skating tecnique but also provide great experiences to provide growth" 

When she's not on the ice Amy can be found at the lake kayaking with her family or making jewelry for her other business Dragonfly And Sage

Sarah Arnold

Sarah started skating at age eight at Line Creek and has been on the ice ever since. She is a Gold Medalist in Singles and Skating Skills, a U.S. Adult National Silver Medalist in singles, and a National Bronze Medalist with the KC Momentum Masters synchronized skating team. She is currently learning ice dance. She has taught learn to skate for 16 years. Off the ice, she works as a nurse practitioner, serves as a Pre-Silver level skating judge, and is a proud cat mom. Sarah loves helping skaters build confidence and have fun while learning the fundamentals of skating.

Amy Anderson

KC Skating Academy

Amy grew up in central Iowa and started skating at the age of 6. In her time as a competitive skater, she competed at competitions across the Midwest up through the Silver Level. She is a Gold Medalist in Skating Skills, Pre Silver in Singles and has completed 2 of 3 Bronze Solo Ice Dance tests. Amy has been coaching since November of 2006 and is an Accredited coach with USFS in Group, Skating Skills and Singles. She has also passed her Master Level Sports Science exam and Hockey 1 certifications with the PSA. During her coaching career, she has worked with skaters of all ages from their first steps on the ice through Gold/Senior level skaters. Her goal as a coach is to provide a fun, positive and athlete centered sports experience that will foster a passion for skating and develop life skills to use on and off the ice. Outside of coaching, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter and 2 dogs, trying out new coffee shops in KC, and is an avid Disney fan.

Stephanie Burkett

Gina Artese

Off Ice Ballet, Flexibility and Strength Coach

Gina currently teaches ballet & strength/flexibility classes at Priscilla & Dana’s School of Dance & for Kansas City Contemporary Dance Company. She has taught ballet on staff at Elite Dance Academy in NYC, State Ballet of Missouri, Imagine Ballet Theatre, teachers master classes and was a competition judge for Dancers Inc.
She danced professionally with Kansas City Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, The Suzanne Farrell Ballet, Christopher Wheeldon’s Morphoses and Twyla Tharp. She performed The Charleston at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival and in My Princess Diana a musical in New York City for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. She danced live at The Kennedy Center Honors on CBS and in Balanchine’s Don Quixote with The Suzanne Farrell Ballet at the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland. Ms. Artese played a ballet teacher on the Starz show Run The World. She has guest starred in Netflix's Friends From College, played a dancing/singing cat on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, was a ballerina on The Blacklist and got pranked on Impractical Jokers. She is the face of Bridezillas and competed on FOX’s The Choice in 2012. Gina was a featured ballerina in Black Swan, Center Stage and Our Idiot Brother. She was featured in Something Borrowed and country line danced in The Americans. She has booked commercials for Old Navy and Macy's and also played "Tina" in Tony and Tina's Wedding.

Debbie Cole

Debbie grew up in St. Joseph Missouri and started her skating career with a Brownie/Girl Scout Troopouting to earn a skating badge. She completed both her “Gold Figure” and “Gold Freestyle” tests with U S Figure Skating. As a competitive skater for 14 years, Debbie competed at the Regional Championships in every level except Juvenile. As a Senior level skater she also competed at the National Collegiate Skating Championships in 1992 and 1993. As a coach she has worked with both Regional and Sectional Competitors. With 20+years of coaching experience, she passes on her love of the sport and her competitive spirit that she passes along to her skating students.

Jennifer Compton

Jennifer has been coaching skating for over 20 years. As a competitive figure skater training at the World Arena in Colorado Springs, she built a strong foundation and love for the sport and now enjoys helping athletes improve not only their skating skills but their fitness level. "I believe in establishing trust with each athlete to balance the positive and negative aspects of learning. The more fun a skater has, the faster they will learn". When she's not on the ice, Jennifer can be found on the lake enjoying time with family and friends

Gabriella Horn

With nearly 10 years of professional coaching experience, Gabriella brings both technical expertise and creative energy to the Kansas City skating community. She began skating at a young age in California, and has since developed a lifelong passion for teaching and mentoring skaters of all levels.

Gabriella specializes in power skating, skating skills, and is a U.S. Figure Skating Gold Medalist in Moves in the Field. She is SafeSport certified and an active member of U.S. Figure Skating.

In addition to coaching, Gabriella is a licensed cosmetologist and continues to work behind the chair as a hair stylist. This background has strengthened her patience, precision, and artistic eye. These qualities carry over and enhance her on-ice instruction.

Gabriella’s coaching philosophy centers on developing strong fundamentals, building confidence, and fostering a lifelong love for skating. She enjoys working with skaters of all ages and levels, helping them achieve their goals both on and off the ice.

Mary Joyce-Lindell

Mary has over 20+ years of experience as a figure skater and over 15+ years of experience teaching Singles, Skating Skills, Hockey Skating, Basic Ice Dance Elements, Power Skating, Choreography, Collegiate Skaters, Adult Skaters, Special Needs Skaters, Recreational Skaters, and Beginners. She focuses on the fundamentals of ice-skating skills to help build a solid foundation in skating with strong attention to detail for all ages and abilities. Outside of ice skating, Mary has a Master’s Degree in Applied Information Technology and works as a QA Engineer. She is from DMV (DC, Maryland, and Virginia) area and is a military spouse.

Madeline Mudd

When Madeline was in the 4th grade she went to her first public skating session at Line Creek Ice Arena, and fell in love with skating. A year later she started the Learn To Skate program. Since she began skating later in life, she loves returning the favor by teaching adult skaters. Madeline has been coaching Learn To Skate at Line Creek for 8 years, and  enjoys seeing the excitement on skaters faces when they master a new skill, or they have that moment when it just “clicks”. A fun fact about Madeline  is that she still competes as an Adult skater on the KC Momentum synchronized skating team!

Outside of skating, Madeline loves experimenting with makeup, working out, and  volunteering at a local animal shelter, KC Pet Project- you’ll always find her with the cats!

Patricia Plum

Patricia Plum is a two-time Gold Medalist in Skating Skills and Solo Free Dance with over a decade of experience in figure skating. She began teaching Learn to Skate at 14 and has since coached both figure skating and competitive swimming. Patricia emphasizes technique, body movement, and artistry, helping skaters build confidence and refine performance. She is an active member of the Kansas City Momentum Synchronized Skating Team and has guest-coached within the organization. Outside the rink, Patricia serves in the USAF Air National Guard as an Air Traffic Controller, bringing leadership, focus, and discipline to her coaching.

Crystal Richardson

Madison Saverino

Madison started skating at 8 years old in the Line Creek’s Learn to Skate program and has been passionate about the sport ever since. While she began in competitive skating, she discovered a true love for the artistic and performance side of skating. She is a double gold medalist in Moves in the Field and Senior Solo Dance, and currently skates with KC Momentum adult figure skating team. As a coach, Madison is dedicated to helping skaters discover their own unique strengths. Encouraging every skater to find joy in the process of learning and growing.

Chloe Thomure

Chloe is from Springfield, Missouri. She began skating in 2009 and has been coaching since 2020, bringing years of experience from competitions, ice shows, and skating camps.She holds a B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics with a minor in Biomedical Sciences and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Nutrition and Dietetics, using her academic background to support skaters’ performance both on and off the ice.Chloe coaches all ages and levels with a focus on choreography, spins, and building confidence through personalized, purposeful instruction. She believes in tailoring each lesson to the skater’s unique learning style and celebrates progress every step of the way.

Rose Haugh
Jr Coach

Rose Haugh is a student at St. Pius X High School where she is captain of the Figure Skating team.  She has been skating for 11 years. She competes in the Natonal Qualifying Series (NQS) at the Novice level and is a Double Gold Medalist. In addition to figure skating she has trained for 9 years in dance including ballet, lyrical, modern, and ballroom.
